  6. a.I have all of my clothing, but I might need a few more layers and options but other then that I have everything, a frame pack, camping gear, mess kit, first aid, a sleeping pad, warm cloths, polyester base layers. I basically have everything that wont be provided as specified on the gear list.
b.So far I don't need any gear that I know of for the class, just needing to double check and see if all my gear is up to the standard. I don't need a compass but it will be here by the 17th at the latest
    c. If all my gear checks out I will be fine but to be sure I plan to ask about it, if anything isnt up to code I will ask or suggestions on brands or keywords to look for and search amazon and or stores in the area that possibly provide discounts for students

    3. I first had interest in WCCC when I visited with a class of mine, I loved that campus and the price wasn't too crazy for what I thought college would be. I hope to learn how to preform at my best under pressure as well as how to feel confident in my actions in the outdoors. In 5 years I hope to meld my two passions, outdoors and entertainment, into a profession that I will find fulfilling.

    4. Personally I expect my instructors to be understanding above all else, learning is hard for alot of people, especially in my case where I try to take everything as a joke and learn through trail and error, which i understand can get frustrating for an instructor. I hope to make it through the year with some sort of skill set that I can apply in my own foolish way

  7. 2a. To be completely honest, I don't believe that I have any of the gear that is needed for the upcoming trip. And yes, I am aware that time is ticking.
2b. I believe I need to get all of the gear required, except a compass, I do have that.
2c. I have saved a few gear items on Amazon, and have been looking into ways I can pay for the gear needed.
3a. I have already attempted to take this course once before, years ago, and I didn't really give it my best. A few years of figuring things out and I have come back with a plan.
3b. I hope to learn how to apply the knowledge gained from this program to make a living, doing something I love.
3c. 5 years from now I hope that I am doing exactly that, making a living doing something I love.
    4. I have absolute faith that the instructors of this program know what they are doing, and I have no other expectations from them.

2A) Due to waiting on funding I currently have warm pants, compass, headlamp, and a waterproof watch with alarm.
    B) Ill need everything but what is listed above from the gear list
    C) Once I am able to find funding I plan on making a trip to Waterville/ Augusta area to see what I have in storage at my mothers due to a recent move to this area, and whatever I do not have I will go to Marden’s and other local stores between Waterville and Augusta to purchase what I need.
3A) I have always been a fan of the outdoors growing up but lost connection with the love of life and what it has to offer by making bad decisions and being in a very abusive relationship for a long time. After hitting rock bottom I decided to stand back up and crawl out of a dark cave and start from scratch in a new area 2 months ago with my kids which opened my eyes back up to what I love the most, and decided to pursue my career goals as a game warden. I have been on kayaking, hiking, horseback, and rock-climbing trip due to spending summers at my dad’s and getting involved in the boys and girls club while he worked. I’m very excited that my education mandated me to take a course like this to help me continue my healing process.
3B) I hope to learn how to love life all over again and to find out who I was meant to be rather than who I have been. I hope to learn all the essentials I will need to be successful in my career and to be confident in using them. I hope to learn more about self-love and how far I can go if I push myself over the finish line every single day even when it seems impossible. I also hope to learn more about living a happy healthy lifestyle by being active in the outdoors and using natural resources that are given to me.
3C) In five years I see myself living a happy, healthy, stable lifestyle as a law enforcement officer and being able to show my children that hard work and dedication pays off regardless of past life challenges. I want them to be proud of me and to be able to tell them stories of life’s realities to help them with their foundations as they grow. I can see myself taking them on adventures and teaching them to never give up on their dreams despite of the darkness in the world that they will encounter. I see myself being proud of who I am and showing the people that doubted me that I made it out alive and turned my life into something great despite the odds.
    4) I expect my instructors to push me to follow my dreams and support me on my new life mission. I expect them to hold me accountable for my educational dreams and not allow me to give up even on my off days. I expect them to push me to my full potential and expose me to new things that I have missed out on due to a bad lifestyle and helping me to find out who I was meant to be in life. I expect them to be apart of my support team I have built after moving here and rooting me on as I cross the finish line.
